Many engineers and researchers will ask us: Mr. He, what is the service life of your high voltage ceramic capacitors? How did this result come about?
First, let's sort out the basic parameters of high voltage capacitors: 1. voltage level; 2. frequency characteristics; 3. partial discharge; 4. current level. 5. insulation resistance; 6. parasitic inductance; 7. frequency characteristics; 8. leakage current; 9. internal resistance; 10. capacity and size. In these 10 items, some of them can be ignored, because customers often have specified a certain voltage and capacity and size of the capacitor. That is, we The life of a specific type of capacitor is discussed, so we only discuss it from the following aspects. 1. Voltage level. Usually, the voltage of CT8G series capacitors labeled on high voltage ceramic capacitors refers to DC voltage. But in practical applications, military products use DC voltage and power industry uses AC voltage. To judge the life or quality of a capacitor, we can first judge from voltage. Whether it is used in military, civil or industrial applications, we should remember it. One point: Only the capacitor with high AC voltage level has the highest service life. Compared with the products of the same trade, we find that the products produced by some domestic enterprises, such as 40KV rated voltage, can reach the maximum DC voltage of about 80KV, which is acceptable to all. That is to say, it is of little significance to discuss the quality of DC. However, when we use alternating current too badly. The worst thing is that in a certain industry in Jiangsu, the AC withstand voltage breaks down before 10KVAC. The AC voltage is low, and other parameters are often unsatisfactory. Our 40KV can reach 100KVDC, or 42KVAC, but they can only reach 80KVDC. 2. Frequency characteristics. Frequency characteristics are often determined by the dielectrics of capacitors. That is to say, no matter whose products are made of the same ceramic dielectrics, the frequency characteristics of capacitors are the same. Similarly, the manufacturer of ceramic dielectrics with better frequency characteristics will have a longer life of this capacitor. For example, people use Y5T to make 30KV102K, while you use N4700 to make 30KV102K. Ceramic dielectrics have excellent properties, so we should pay attention to the selection of materials when choosing capacitors. 3. Partial discharge. This is the bottleneck of many domestic manufacturers. The larger the size, the more difficult the partial discharge is to handle. But after our long-term market practice, it is found that the closer the partial discharge is to 0 PC, the better the performance and life of all aspects. For example, in high-frequency pulse circuit, the smaller the partial discharge is, the stronger the ability to withstand high-frequency pulse is, that is, the longer the life. 4. It also includes the current capacity, which has an effect on the life of capacitors. If the overcurrent is large, the life of capacitors will be long. Looking at the above several most prominent factors affecting the use of high voltage capacitors, we can easily see that in order to make the best products, we must achieve high AC voltage, good frequency characteristics, small partial discharge and strong over-current capability. However, many customers often ignore some factors, or the producers think that as long as some factors meet customer requirements, it is wrong. For example, military products, although using DC voltage, do not require partial discharge, but in practical application, high AC voltage, small partial discharge, to ensure better life and performance. This is like athletes in swimming competitions, not only smooth posture science, more importantly, physical strength, the best explosive force is king!
